Collaborative Care for the Behavioral Health Care Manager (CoCM)
Technology No. 482
The Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) is an approach that integrates behavioral health services into primary care and other medical settings. With this model, two new roles are added to the existing patient-provider relationship - a behavioral health care manager (BHCM) and a psychiatric consultant.
The role of the BHCM is central to the CoCM model - this person works with all members of the team to insure the principles and tasks of CoCM are successfully implemented for the population of patients being treated.
To meet the needs of individuals who seek to practice CoCM, the AIMS Center has designed this modular, 9-hour online training program to deliver training in CoCM to the BHCM.
Optional Continuing Education (CE) credit is available and is included in the registration fee.
